27th November 2015
We have known this was happening for a while now, but the time has finally arrived and Charlotte Tilbury has now opened her first stand alone, House Of Tilbury store.
Where: 11 – 12 James Street, London, WC2E 8BT
When: open to customers from 10am 28th November 2015
As would be expected for a make-up artist of her calibre and experience, the opening of her Covent Garden store this morning was a hub of activity with beauty journalists eager to get a look at the new store and queuing to receive one of the stores make-overs.
Charlotte has brought her years of experience into the store, which oozes Hollywood vintage glamour yet merges this with the technological necessities of the modern era. The boudoirs style store was designed with a Fast and Fabulous concept. She wanted to create a beauty dream for make-up fans with a bejewelled and bedazzled vintage art-deco style containing boudoir dressing tables and mirrors. The London born make-up artist incorporated some modern day technology with a multi-media wall of large screens that show images of make-up looks she created over her long, successful career.
Upstairs is the ‘fast beauty’ which house the full make-up range divided around the floor in neat sections including bestsellers, skin secrets and lipsticks. There are also complimentary ‘Quick Trick’ 15 min make-overs. The multiple screens show Tilbury’s trailers and wall of work and easy-to-follow how-to videos and you can pay by Ipad to speed up your purchase. You can also engage with the Charlotte Tilbury social media channels from here.
Downstairs there is a elegant relaxed feel to the space which contains a champagne bar, a personalised engraving service and 7 magic art deco dressing tables. These dressing tables, with velvet-covered swivel chairs, can be booked for a one hour make-up lesson where you can watch your own 60 minute make-over thanks to the Charlotte Tilbury transformation make-over menu.
Talking about the design of the store Charlotte said “I’ve carefully curated every single item in my art-deco, rock n’ roll inspired beauty boudoir to create my dream beauty world, from the vintage chandeliers, counters, Champagne bar and vanity tables, down to the sumptuous bathroom.” She continued by saying “Downstairs is like entering a portal into my beauty boudoir – it’s like a make-up wonderland!
